The largest event of the week was TikTok, with 300 roles cut (TikTok said it would cut several hundred UK trust-and-safety roles, about 300 in its London team plus hundreds more in Asia, concentrating content moderation in fewer hubs (Dublin, Lisbon and third-party providers) and leaning more on AI review. The company said AI tools already identify over 85% of content removed for guideline breaches; the CWU union criticised the move from human moderators to what it called 'immature AI alternatives.').
