Privacy & cookies
Cutby.AI is a public, open-data tracker. It is built to be read, cited and embedded — not to profile the people who read it. This page explains, in plain terms, what we do and do not collect.

The short version
We set no tracking cookies, run no advertising networks, and build no profiles of visitors. By default the site loads no third-party analytics at all. Everything below is the detail behind that.
Cookies and local storage
The site sets no cookies. The only thing we may store on your device is your cookie-preference choice, and only if an optional tool is ever switched on — it is kept in your browser's local storage, never sent to us, and remembering a consent choice needs no consent itself.
Analytics
There is no analytics on the site today. If we ever add measurement, it will be a privacy-friendly, cookieless tool, it will load only after you opt in through the consent banner, and you will be able to change your mind at any time via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
The newsletter
If you subscribe to The Weekly Cut, your email address is sent to our email provider (Buttondown) for the sole purpose of sending you that newsletter. You can unsubscribe from any issue, and we do not use your address for anything else.
The embed widget
The live counter you can embed on other sites is a plain iframe. It sets no cookies, loads no third-party trackers, and sends us nothing about the people who see it.
Server logs
Like any website, our hosting keeps short-lived technical request logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site running and secure. These are not used to track or profile you and are not combined with anything else.
Advertising
Advertising slots are arranged directly, by email — we do not run third-party ad networks or their cookies. If that ever changes, this page and the consent banner will say so before any such cookie is set.
The data we publish
The ledger tracks job cuts at named companies, not individuals, and is published as open data under CC BY 4.0. It contains no personal data about you.
Your choices and contact
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have rights over any personal data we hold (access, correction, deletion). In practice the only personal data we hold is a newsletter email, if you gave us one. For anything privacy-related, email hello@cutby.ai.
