At its Capital Markets Day Lufthansa announced 4,000 administrative job cuts by 2030 (mostly in Germany), explicitly citing efficiency gains from digitalization and AI alongside consolidation of duplicated roles - one of the first major airlines to link job cuts to AI.
Lufthansa statement: 'The profound changes brought about by digitalization and the increased use of artificial intelligence will lead to greater efficiency in many areas and processes.'
