   The Dutch bank said it would cut 5,200 full-time roles by 2028, more than 20% of staff, under a 2026-2028 plan to 'right-size' its cost base and lift profitability. Executives said AI would take over part of the work: customer service, operations and anti-money-laundering teams are expected to shrink by about 35% as AI assumes those functions. About half the reduction is planned through attrition; by August 2026 the bank had cut roughly 2,250 roles, with about 2,750 more planned.

   ABN Amro framed the cuts as 'right-sizing' its cost base, while executives said AI would assume part of the workload, with customer service, operations and AML teams expected to shrink about 35%.
